A Day Off From Work

Hello deadmalls.com fans.

I had today off from work. I didn't get out to any malls or retail sites today, but that's not a bad thing. I sat home and chilled out. Was going through all the great submissions we've been receiving and wanted to let everyone know that all entries are reviewed and we do occasionally go back into the archives to post material. If you've submitted something in the past and haven't noticed it on the site, send an email with PRIOR SUBMISSION as the subject.

We appreciate all the great information, and look forward to continuing to add more sites as time allows.

More updates will appear tonight.

Thanks everyone!

Sincerely,

Brian Florence

Yeah, keep the submissions coming everybody. We love reading them. My deadmalls.com inbox has seen tumbleweeds this week.

I'm actually doing a report right now on dead malls and retail chains in comparison to dead humans (broken window theory, etc.) but once that's finished, I have about three or four submissions for you regarding Grand Rapids, Michigan. Several mall names I have to check up on before I submit, but it includes:
-A mall that turned into a police station
-A mall converted into office space
-And a mall that was just terribly remodeled and is, for all intents and purposes, dead and there are at least two fully-automatic weapons for sale therein.

I've really liked reading your site and all of those that are associated with it. Keep it up!

There's one in Topeka KS also ...
can't remember the name, but it seems to just have a couple of martial arts and dance gyms there now.

I like this site. It's great to see so many malls dead or dying. Malls suck, and so do big box retailers.

Bring back the traditional American downtown, small shops and distributed retail.

The Wonderland Mall in Livonia became so dead that the public transit authority shut down the buses. See why here http://savethefueltax.org

Park Lane Mall in Reno, NV will be closing January 31.

I notice there's no mention of it on your site, so I thought I'd pass the info along.

Neshaminy Mall (PA), Oxford Valley Mall(PA), Quakerbridge Mall (NJ), Mercer Mall (NJ), Levittown/Willingboro Mall, Eschelon Mall (NJ)

I have an interest in images of any or all of these malls, does anyone have them??? As a young child and later on as a teenager I can remember going to these places. I grew up in rural NJ and moved from there as a teenager in the early 80's I just would like to see some of these places again. I am particularly interested in The Neshaminy Mall, the sign that sits out front of the mall with the tommahawk, and the animated figures inside of the mall, and of course and other images too! I am also interested in Quakerbridge and Mercer Malls and the Oxford Valley Mall as well! Spent a lot of time in all four of those malls as a child/teen.

I now reside in Florida and there are a few dead malls here I could document if y'all are interested, just tell me how and where to submit (by the way? I am a photographer! Have digital camera and travel throughout the state of Florida...

Where are the photo albums????????????
