Retail Real Estate closer to becoming Monopoly

This has direct relevance to Dead Malls. Simon is preparing to acquire General Growth properties. Simon is already the largest mall owner in the United States.

There will be many redundant mall locations if this takeover is approved, and many more closings.

Fuck Simon. They are getting so close to having an illegal monopoly, and they harass photographers all of the time. They need some actual competition...

Its funny how Simon is fighting their insurance companies in court here in Nashville, but yet they are buying Malls and strip malls up all over the country....They have NO need to wait for the money from the insurance companies to finish repairing Opry Mills from the May 2010 Flood. I agree with Dan. Simon is slowly screwing themselves. Why don't they worry about fixing up malls that have been flooded & are a HUGE tourist thing for Nashville, which is what we need right now. But no, they would rather go out and buy even more malls that they probably have NO plans on fixing up. Just going to buy them so they can have their name on them. They are a greedy company that needs to wake up and smell reality and realize they need to fix up malls and NOT go and buy more until the ones they have are fixed!!!!
